About HoLA

HoLA is a leadership camp in Japan tailored for high school students and early college students.

Chad Felt left a retail career in New York City in 1990 to try his hand at teaching and has never looked back. He is an award-winning teacher and baseball coach, and was named Berlin, Germany “Teacher of the Year” in 2004. In addition to his duties in the English Department at the John F. Kennedy School in Berlin, he also teaches his Leadership Seminar and acts as advisor to both the Student Council and Yearbook.

David Piazza spends his summers in the mountains of the American west and northern Japan. With fourteen years teaching experience and double that in outdoor experience, David has a passion for combining nature with education. In 2002, he earned “The Most Influential Teacher” award at the Branson School in California. Since then, he has been at Hokkaido International School, teaching science while advising the outdoor club and student government.
